The large trail around the lake is safe and beautiful any time of year!Īlso, try visiting West Rock park by parking at Amrhyn Field, the main parking lot. If you have a car, visit Lake Wintergreen (the base of West Rock) and park in the lot in Hamden, it's on the New Haven border. ![]() Flickr/Jack Parrott Visit East Rock Park at 41 Cold Spring St. From November 2 through March 3, the road is open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 8 a.m. The road for cars is open from April 1 through November 1, 8 a.m. Sounds like you're smart and prepared, so enjoy one of New Haven's best parks!
